WebRegular PSO2 is completely lobby/instanced-based except in the HUB ships. I only played a trial FF14 up to level 18 or 20, but it was decent. It’s a more traditional theme-park MMO, with tab-targeting combat but you can move around, and has a heavy emphasis on story. WebJul 29, 2024 · FFXIV just appealed to me a lot more, I guess. Can't compare the two games really. One requires a monthly sub to play past Heavenward while the other is a f2p game you can go back to anytime without paying a dime. Tried PSO2 for a bit, FFXIV and PSO2 have very little in common in terms of story/gameplay/design.
