This means that rust particles will accumulate inside the radiator and mix with the water travelling through it. WebbBoiler sludge is water within a heating system that can become dirty over time, and as these particles of water meet rust within pipes, sludge can quickly form. Sludge in radiator problems is more likely to occur in older properties because rust is more prevalent within pipes that have been working hard for many years.
