(had it from new for 5 years) I put it down to the power they were taking as when i pulled more revs, less flickering occured. (the car battery is weak on this car) But last night, the flickering was really bad and wouldn't go way. Like fluorescent lights, you need a high voltage ballast to produce 20k volts to initiate ionization of the gas. There are Sun sensors (part of HVAC) and the auto dim camera module in the mirror that also send CAN bus data signals. Flickering lights, if both flicker, is probably a TIPM problem. If only one side flickers, it could also be the wiring harness to that side.
